Michele D'Douza from NatWest gave a salutary talk about scams at the Members' Open Morning Meeting on 7th October. She described how easy it is to be taken in by scans, what to look out for and how to avoid them.
Open Meetings
Letchworth Settlement, Nevells Road, SG4UB
We meet monthly so you can catch up with fellow members and visitors over a cuppa, then listen to one or two speakers. There is no need to get a ticket in advance, just come along.
The first speaker, usually from a local organisation or a LALG member, starts at 10.30am. The second speaker could be from anywhere and speak on any subject! We aim to finish by noon or shortly after.
Venue: Kincaid Hall, Letchworth Settlement, Nevells Road, Letchworth, SG6 4UB. 5 minutes walk from the station: turn right out of the station, walk over railway bridge and first right. There is limited parking at the Settlement, but there is two hours free parking at the car park next to the outdoor swimming pool in Icknield Way, a few minutes' walk away.
